New track for Park Avenue boom: Lazy‑TAC Easy TWO

When to choose a custom boom track

When a Park Avenue boom reaches significant dimensions (in this case around 8 metres), even replacing a track for canopies and lazybags can become a technical challenge.

In this specific case, the existing track was damaged and no longer usable. The main issue was the need to respect the holes already present on the boom, made during the original installation — a condition that made it difficult to use standard profiles.

The solution identified for this 56‑foot sailing yacht was the use of a double‑slot anodised aluminium track, selected in the Lazy‑TAC Easy TWO version and customised accordingly. The procedure involved several steps:

  • measuring the existing track,

  • cutting the new bars to the same length,

  • drilling the profiles to match the original holes,

  • anodising the profiles to increase resistance in the marine environment,

  • preparing screws and accessories to simplify installation.

Once installed, the new anodised track restored the boom’s functionality, ensuring smooth and reliable sliding of both lazybag and canopy.

This case shows how, with particularly large booms or pre‑existing hole patterns, it is often necessary to adapt the profiles to real onboard conditions, avoiding invasive work and reducing the boat’s downtime.
